Challenge: to provide responsive visual information across multiple phases of the major project to support effective and timely communications.
In the tender phase UC helped integrate multiple tender submissions into a coherent story to assist with due process. Throughout the project development UC have created accurate 3d models from the 2D civil engineering design drawings and survey information. These have been converted into visualisations for image, video and virtual model outputs. There has been particular focus at interchanges and areas with associated urban impacts.
The 3d virtual model has allowed personalised and individuated house-by-house consultation. Every interested person has been able to gain a full and transparent view of the proposal from their front or back yard. The consultation sessions with the virtual models have been very successful - with one session counting over 300 people lined up for a personalised experience of the project.
Durring construction, the virtual model has been used by the client to communicate to the community a range of details about future impacts and opportunities from a personal perspective. It has allowed the client to negotiate with the contractor over details that were considered unsuitable in the design, to improve the outcome for the state and local community. Multiple images and videos have been derived from the virtual model as it is continually upgraded to help demonstrate and doscover solutions.
